Nirvana House residential project designed by AtelierM in Pilar, Buenos Aires has redefined the relationship between domestic architecture and its natural context, creating a layered spatial composition that merges landscape and structure. Completed on a site facing a polo field, the house is articulated as a three-level garden, incorporating the site’s natural topography into its design. Noble materials like concrete and wood were selected for their endurance and aging qualities. The spatial arrangement places open-plan social areas on the ground floor and private quarters above to enhance both functionality and spatial hierarchy. Passive design principles guide the environmental strategy, optimizing light and ventilation while reducing energy demands. Large windows and a central water feature frame views and intensify the interaction between interior and exterior. The architectural intent focuses on a seamless connection between built form and landscape, encouraging a slower, contemplative domestic experience.

Nirvana House, designed by AtelierM and positioned in Pilar, Buenos Aires, across from a polo field, explores the integration of landscape and architecture. Drawing from the natural topography, the project is structured as a three-level garden, merging terrain and architecture into a continuous spatial dialogue.

The design incorporates smooth lines and robust materials such as concrete and wood, selected for their longevity and ability to age with dignity. Expansive windows and a central reflecting pond establish a continuous relationship with the surrounding vegetation, reinforcing the connection between interior and exterior spaces.

The program is arranged with a clear division of functions: the ground floor is dedicated to public use, housing the open-plan living, dining, and kitchen areas, while the upper floor contains private spaces, including bedrooms oriented toward panoramic views of the landscape to encourage calm and introspection.

Environmental strategies are integral to the project. Passive design methods enhance natural lighting and ventilation, reducing dependence on mechanical systems. The use of low-maintenance materials supports long-term ecological performance and ensures compatibility with the natural setting.
